Dr Nicole Chiropractor In Brookfield

When it comes to your family, the techniques used at Knapp Chiropractic are based on your needs and comfort level to get you back to health. When you first start chiropractic care, a full evaluation of your condition and concerns will be taken, and the treatment plan will be discussed with you fully.

Most people have a basic knowledge that chiropractic care includes manually adjusting or manipulating the spine and other parts of the body. A chiropractor’s hands are their tools of the trade, to be sure, but there are other techniques that we utilize to assist in the process.

Each patient’s chiropractic care journey will vary, but these are some chiropractic techniques we use here in our Brookfield office.

Webster Technique

The Webster Technique is a manipulation on the pelvis and sacrum for misalignment for pregnant women.  This gentle manipulation is done with hand adjustments as well as the Thompson drop table, which is a segmented table that moves up and down to accommodate your growing belly. This technique helps to balance the muscles and ligaments around the pelvis and the round ligament, which covers the sides of the uterus down to the pubic symphysis.

Because the adjustments allow alignment and release pressure on the pelvis, this technique often helps the baby get into the vertex position for birth. The Webster Technique is safe, gentle, and can increase your comfort during pregnancy and prepare your body for labor and delivery.

Palmer Technique

The Palmer technique is the core of chiropractic care and has different components in it. These are the techniques most used in our family-focused chiropractic care.

The Diversified Technique is a quick, light thrust used to align vertebrae and create optimum joint movement. This is often accompanied by the Thompson Drop technique, a specialized table with areas that drop down to allow the thrusts to be much lighter and allow the adjustments to be made much more quickly.

The Gonstead Technique is an adjustment to realign the spine to adjust the lower back or pelvis. It’s a manual adjustment done by hand while you lay on your side. It’s very effective and helps alleviate pain, stiffness and increase mobility.

Chiropractic Activator

This small silver device is a handheld instrument used when the most gentle of pressure is needed. It delivers a fast, specific thrust that is so quick that it doesn’t give your body a chance to tighten up and resist the adjustment, promoting mobility in the area it is needed most.

The activator is good for all patients but is especially effective for children since there is no maneuvering of the spine that can make a popping noise unfamiliar to them. Using the activator can be as effective as hands-on manipulations.

Thomson Drop Technique

This is a special table used in chiropractic that is segmented to allow precise adjustments. By laying on this table, we can adjust the part of the table under you a few inches to allow adjustments to focus on the areas that are troublesome for you.

We can apply gentle pressure to areas around your lumbar, thoracic, sacral and pelvic regions to enhance the different spinal segment motions because of the table’s unique design. This technique feels like a rocking motion and is great for kids of all ages, adults, and pregnant women.

Spinal Decompression

If you have ongoing back pain, sciatica, disc herniation or disc bulges, spinal decompression can be one of the most effective, non-surgical ways to treat your concerns. This technique takes the pressure off of the gel-like spinal disks between the bones in your spine, creates a negative pressure and allows oxygen and nutrients to flow back into the disc so healing can occur.

This process is very slow and safe, and most patients report feeling much relief. A computerized table will slowly stretch your lower part of your body while your upper remains still. This will help your muscles get a full stretch without tensing and allow that good fluid to get into your disks.

Advanced Technology

Knapp Chiropractic believes that a holistic approach to health and wellness is the key to your family’s overall health. We continue to study and offer the latest advances in chiropractic care in the office if we believe that it will benefit our patients. We don’t guess we test.

These items are some technologies that allow us to accurately measure the stressors on your nervous system. Each one helps us determine more low-lying issues that may be affecting your health. Just like a manual adjustment, each tool in our health arsenal is utilized when necessary, so you feel your best as soon as possible.

sEMG Static, Chiropractic Techniques and Advanced Technologies

sEMG Static/Dynamic

Evaluates and precisely measures muscle activity; allowing your progress to be monitored as your spine releases tension and you regain more control throughout your alignment visits.

neuroPULSE HRV, Chiropractic Techniques and Advanced Technologies

neuroPULSE™ HRV

Relays your body’s ability to adapt to emotional, physical, or chemical stressors by looking at the timing of your pulse; determining the balance and tension within your nervous system.
